What I do and How I Help People Feel at Home Again

Have you ever looked around your home and thought, “I don't even know where to start”?
Maybe over the years your home has slowly filled up with things, and you're living with unfinished projects, overflowing closets, or rooms that no longer function the way you need them to. Perhaps you are starting to feel suffocated and embarrassed to invite people over.
Or maybe your home changed because you changed. You got married and had kids. The kids grew up and moved out. You're preparing to downsize. You inherited your parents' belongings. You're getting ready to move yourself or aging parents. You've gone through a difficult season of life.
And somewhere along the way, the place that was supposed to be your refuge started feeling like one more thing you had to manage.
That's where I come in. I help people create homes that feel more manageable, more peaceful, and more like theirs again.
I call my business Aligned Home Solutions because I believe your home should be aligned with the life you're living now—not the life you lived ten years ago, not the life you think you should be living, and not someone else's version of what an organized home looks like.
There are plenty of organizing tips on out there. There are countless before-and-after photos on Instagram and Pinterest. You can buy beautiful bins, make lovely labels, watch videos, and find a hundred different checklists telling you how to organize your home.
So you might reasonably ask: Why would you hire someone to help you do something you are capable of doing yourself? And an even better question might be: Why would you hire ME?
Because You Don't Need More Advice. You Need Someone Beside You.
Most people who reach out to me aren't incapable of organizing. They've just gotten stuck.
Life gets busy and the clutter creeps in slowly so you don’t notice until you are drowning.
Maybe there was a move, a divorce, a death, a health crisis, children leaving home, or another major transition. For many people, there simply isn't enough time or energy to deal with everything. And sometimes the hardest part isn't knowing how to organize. It's knowing where to start.
That's where I come in.
I don't walk into your home with a list of things you "should" be doing. I don't judge you. And I don't believe that an organized home has to look like a picture in a magazine. Instead, I work alongside you to figure out what is and isn't working and what would make your home feel easier, calmer, and more manageable.
I Don't Come In and Tell You What to Get Rid Of
Your home is filled with your belongings, your memories, your decisions—and often your emotions. I can help you ask the questions that make decisions easier, but you are always the one who decides what stays and what goes.
Sometimes, though, we need permission. Permission to admit that we don't actually like something anymore. Permission to let go of something we haven't used in years. Permission to stop keeping things simply because we might need them someday. Permission to create space for the life we're living now.
I'm there to help you work through those decisions without judgment and, when you're ready, give you the encouragement to let go.
There Are Real Benefits to Having Someone Beside You
Honestly, you can do this yourself. But here's the thing I've learned: It's almost always easier when you don't have to do it alone.
When you're working by yourself, it's easy to get distracted. You start sorting the kitchen, find something that belongs upstairs, take it upstairs, notice something else that needs to be done—and suddenly three hours have passed and you're wondering what you actually accomplished.
Or maybe you pick up an old photo, a letter, or something that reminds you of a person, a place, or a time in your life. Before you know it, you're sitting there reminiscing instead of sorting, and the whole day is gone.
When I'm there, we stay focused on the task at hand.
That means projects that have been sitting on your to-do list for months—or even years—can move forward. And most of the time, my clients are shocked that to find it took SO much less time than they thought it would to do it alone.
An Outside Perspective Can Change Everything
When you've lived with something for years, it's hard to see it differently. You stop noticing the drawer that doesn't work. You get used to walking around the pile. You don't see the obvious place something could go because you've always kept it somewhere else.
I can look at your home with fresh eyes. Not to judge it—but to ask: “What if we tried this?” Sometimes one small change can make a surprisingly big difference.
And knowing that someone is coming back can be surprisingly motivating. Instead of thinking, “I'll get to that closet sometime,” you have a plan. Instead of spending another weekend thinking about what needs to be done, you're actually doing it. My clients often feel more motivated to do a little bit between sessions and proudly share what they have accomplished while I was gone.
I'm there to keep you moving, help you stay focused, celebrate the progress, and keep the project from becoming another unfinished thing on your list.
You Don't Have to Make Every Decision Alone
Decluttering can be exhausting because every object is a decision. When you're alone, you can go around in circles.
Do I keep this?
What if I need it?
What if I regret getting rid of it?
Someone gave this to me.
I spent good money on this.
Maybe I'll use it someday.
Having someone beside you can help you move through those decisions instead of getting stuck in them. I'll ask questions, help you think through the possibilities, and help you stay connected to why you're doing this in the first place. The goal isn't to get rid of as much as possible. The goal is to make room for what matters now.
I Look at the Whole Picture
Sometimes what appears to be an organizing problem isn't really an organizing problem.
Maybe your kitchen counters are always covered because the things you use every day don't have a convenient home. Or the entryway is constantly chaotic because there's no drop zone. Or maybe your home simply doesn't fit the life you're living anymore.
I look at those bigger patterns. How do you use your home? What frustrates you? What takes too much time? What could be easier? Then we work from there.
It’s More Than Just Bins and Labels
My expertise shines when it comes to guiding you through your things and then organizing them in a way that makes it easier for you to maintain.
But sometimes you need help with other things as well like preparing for a move or help with unpacking and figuring out where everything should go.
Perhaps you need a room refreshed so it functions better or a whole house flow reset.
Maybe you need to add a home office or to figure out where to put a nursery, or decide what to do with things the kids outgrown.
And sometimes you just need another set of eyes to look at your home and say, "Let's figure this out together."
I Meet You Where You Are
You don't have to clean up before I come. In fact, please don't.
You don't have to hide the piles. You don't have to apologize for the garage. You don't have to explain why the spare bedroom became the room where everything gets put when you don't know what else to do with it.
My goal isn't to make you feel bad about where you are. It's to help you feel hopeful about where you can go from here.
So…Why Hire Me?
Because I don't believe organizing is about creating a perfect home. I believe it's about creating a home that supports your life instead of making your life harder.
I bring practical organizing experience, but I also listen, notice and ask questions to find reasons behind the clutter. I help you make decisions and keep you focused with gentle accountability, and I give you permission to let go when you're ready.
There is no shame here. No judgment. No pressure to become a minimalist. No requirement that everything matches.
You don't have to have it all figured out before you call me. That's part of what I'm here for.
If your home is overwhelming you, you're facing a move or major life transition, or you simply know that things could work better, let's have a conversation.
Sometimes the first step toward a more peaceful home is simply having someone help you see what's possible.
